Lahaina - Anastacia Alamon Agapay, 77, of Lahaina, was called home by our Heavenly Father on July 3, 2024. She was born on May 9, 1947, in Batac, Ilcos Norte in the Philippines. On May 6, 1972, she married the love of her life, John Agapay, at the Holy Innocents Church in Lahaina. Together they have six children, all born and raised in Lahaina. She was known as Ana or Tacing and spent the early years of her life raising her kids, who were her pride and joy. She worked as a Housekeeper at the Maui Marriott Hotel in Kaanapali for over 35 years before retiring. Ana had a very gracious heart who loved her family and who strived to make everyone happy. Ana is survived by her loving husband John Agapay, and their six children: Robert (Vilma) Agapay, Jo-ann (Chris) Trout, Janet Driggers, Judith (Kris) Flechtner, Randy (Rachelle) Agapay, and Ray (Paula) Agapay. Ten grandchildren: Noah, Anson, Kaily, Rylan, Leilani, Kekoa, Khalila, Liana, Masen, and Kawika. Fur baby: Venus. Siblings: Juanito (Linda) Alamon, Patrocinia Pambid, Andres (Mina) Alamon, and Marilou (Edward) Cabading. Ana was predeceased by her parents, Mariano and Leonora Alamon and siblings Renato and Pureza Alamon.
She was also deeply loved by many family members and friends. Special mahalo to the doctors, nurses, Liberty Dialysis Kahana, and Hospice Maui.
Visitation hours will be Thursday, July 18, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for private family viewing, 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. for public viewing, with a Vigil for the Deceased at 7 p.m. at Nakamura Mortuary.
There will also be a public visitation hour on Friday, July 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Church. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., the Rite of Committal and burial at Maui Memorial Park at 12:00 p.m. Lunch to follow at St. Anthony Church.
