Kahului, HI - Bruce Edward Locke, 73, of Kahului, Hawaiʻi, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026, in Wailuku, Hawaiʻi, with his loving family at his side.

Bruce was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and raised in Kailua/Lanikai on the island of Oʻahu. As a young man, he spent time traveling across the United States before eventually returning home to Hawaiʻi. After coming back to the islands, he worked on a fishing boat in Kailua-Kona. Encouraged by his employer to complete his education, Bruce returned to school and finished high school, later attending trade school where he became an automatic transmission specialist.

Bruce eventually moved to Maui, where he became co-owner of the Maui Automatic Transmission Shop. Later, he began working for Aloha Airlines as a baggage handler and steadily worked his way up through dedication and hard work to become a lead ramp serviceman. Bruce proudly spent many years with Aloha Airlines before retiring.

Outside of work, Bruce enjoyed a simple life filled with the things he loved most. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing, playing baseball and softball. He also liked the country life and raised pigs and goats. He also had a horse named Sunshine. He loved spending time watching his children play golf. Later in life, he found joy in caring for his yard and spending time with his beloved dogs, Mina, MeiMei, and Marlow.

Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Locke; his sons, Jeffery Soares and Ryan Locke; and his daughters, Chelayna (Michael) Saiki and Kristeena Locke (Brandon). He is also survived by his brothers Dana Locke, Randall (Lynn) Locke, and Baron (Lorinda) Locke, his sister Michelle Locke, and his best buddy, Wallace English, along with numerous nieces and nephews, his extended family and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his mother Pauline Mary Taylor, father Edward Locke, brothers Drake Locke and Rustyn Locke.

Bruce will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, dedication to his family, and the quiet pride he took in the life he built. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
