Jojo was a veteran of the US Army and a retired Maui County lifeguard and swim instructor for more than 40 years at the Waluku pool. She was very passionate about being a lifeguard and had a deep connection with the community.Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Ballard Family Mortuary in Kahului. Public viewing will be from 8:30am - 11am with services to begin at 11:15am. The family requests casual attire.Jojo is survived by her children Duane (Marjorie) Porter, Kent, Zelie (Chuck Hisamoto, deceased), Jasen, Kaimana Apo and hanai son, Rusty Basco. Siblings Charles (Diana) Ledward Jr., Patricia Cook, Luana deceased (Bernard) Kamakahi and Shoji Ledward, 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
