Eliza Lucas Agpoon, 86, of Kahului, Maui, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on November 15, 1938, in Laoag, Philippines, to Roque and Rafaela Lucas, Eliza was a beloved member of the Maui community and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.Eliza was predeceased by her parents, her husband Juan Agpoon, her aunt Simprosa Bumanglag, and her brothers Alfonso Sr. and Jose Lucas.She is survived by her children: Johnson, Elizabeth (Lep), Sanders, Rose Marie, Roque Charles (Lei), and Sava James; her grandchildren: Kalei (Michael) Hokama, RJ (Ryanna) Hernandez, ShandiMarie, Kiara, and Kayla; and her great-granddaughter: Ryder-Jayde Hernandez. She is also survived by her sisters: Filomina Bareng and Gavina Dadis, and numerous nieces and nephews.The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Father Moki and Dixie Hino of Good Shepherd Church, Angie Alba and family, Nurse Julie, and the dedicated staff at Islands Hospice for their unwavering support during this difficult time.A two-day service will be held in Eliza's honor:- Thursday, February 20th6:00-9:00 p.m. at Norman's Mortuary Service at 7:00 p.m.- Friday, February 21st9:30 a.m.-12 p.m. at Good Shepherd Church in Wailuku Service: 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at The Gardens of Meditation. A luncheon will be held afterward.
