George Sakai Antonio Obituary
We celebrate the life of our beloved George S. Antonio who peacefully passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. George was the son of the late Clemente O. and Ethel K. Antonio Sr. of Kula and boldly grew up in upcountry Kula. He enjoyed childhood activities including fishing with his dad, cattle ranching for neighbors, hunting, boxing, basketball games in the old Kula gym, and raising his grand champion Hereford steer "Rebel" in the Kula 4-H Club. He attended the old Kealahou School and St. Anthony High School, Class of 1969. George volunteered for military service and was a proud US Navy Vietnam War Combat Veteran, two tours, 1969-1973. He was privileged to share lasting friendships with his Navy buddies. He loved the Lord and enjoyed listening to Hawaiian music. He owned and operated Aloha Drywall & Repair Company for 30 years and valued making his customers happy with his exceptional workmanship, on Maui and Oahu.
He is deeply missed and will live on through his beloved daughters Kimberly (Barratt Boothe) Antonio of Wailuku and Heidi (Alix Wandesforde-Smith) Antonio of Seattle, Washington, his grandchildren Kai'ea (Veulah) Hokoana of Portland, Oregon, twins Asa and Zoe Antonio of Seattle, Washington, and hanai son Travis (Amber) Corden of Wailuku; his former wife and lifelong friend Linda Ann Corden; his siblings, Clement O. (Joanne) Antonio Jr., Patricia (Donald) Brown, Ponciana (Fred, USN Master Chief, retired) Frothinger, Leilani (John) Acain, Deborah (Laurie) Don-Antonio, Lorriaynn Antonio (deceased); numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
