Kahului, Hawaii - Gloria Tsunae Nakama Returned to her Heavenly Father on February 3rd 2026. She was born on December 26th, 1929 in Hana, Maui to Wakamatsu and Shizuyo Murai. She attended Baldwin High School and later worked in sales in her early years and retired as a custodian for the state. As a young mother and wife, she enjoyed going to the beach with her family where beef teriyaki, hotdogs and musubi were the menu favorites. She supported her children by attending all of their sporting events. occasional getaway trips to las Vegas were on the agenda in her later years. she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, and is survived by her children: Alan (Estrella), Lawrence (Debra), Melvin (Sharon), and Cindy (Terry) Matsuo along with her brother Atsushi Murai and her sister, Jean Shiraishi. She also leaves four grandchildren: Cathy, Johnston, Devin, and Dayna and four great grandchildren. A private Celebration of Life was already held at the Iao United Church of Christ followed by a burial service at Maui Memorial Cemetery. As requested by deceased, no flowers or Koden.
