Kahului, HI - Larry M. Okita, 80, of Kahului, Maui, passed away on March 19, 2026 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born on February 25, 1946 in Puunene.
Larry was a letter carrier for the United States postal service. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Paulette; and parents, Mutsuji and Edith. He is survived by his sons, James Legsay Jr. (Dorna), Craig Okita (Joanne), Lance Okita; his siblings, Joyce Fujimoto, Sally Fujikawa, Paul Okita (Huong "Tam"); 7 grandchildren, James K. Legsay III, Javin Legsay, Jaenali Legsay, Reyn Okita, Shay Okita, Skye Okita, Raiden Okita; 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will held at Ballard Family Mortuary on Friday, April 17, 2026 with visitation from 6pm; eulogy and services will start at 7:15pm; cremation will follow.
