Robert Gerald (Sam) Fevella, 92 of Maui, passed away on June 15, 2026, at Hospice Maui Hale under the loving care of their staff. Robert was born on November 22, 1933, to the late Joseph and Balbina Fevella of Haliimaile.


He was a graduate of Saint Anthony High School, class of 1951 and Maui Technical College. He married his high school sweetheart, Adele DeRego who preceded him in death after 46 years of marriage. He retired from Hawaiian Telephone Company as a Cable Splicing Supervisor. He was a Korean War era veteran who served in the United States Coast Guard for four years and was President of

the Maui No Ka Oi Chapter 282 of the Korean War Veterans Association of Maui until the time of his death. He also previously served in the Hawaii National Guard from 1950-1953.


Robert (Sam) is survived by his children, Yolanda Fevella-Levesque

(Matthew), Jozette Montalvo (Harlon), Brian Fevella (Luana) and his

companion; Elizabeth Varano He leaves behind two granddaughters; Brittany House and Heather Rickard and three great grandchildren, Rylee Vi House (5), Remington Samuel Rickard (2), Keola Captain Fernandez (7 mos). He is also survived by his sisters, Geraldine (Jerome) Smith and Audrey Glassen. He is preceded in death by his sister, Lorraine Ibara (Alan).


Services will be held on July 14, 2026, starting visitation at

9 am at the Kula Holy Ghost Church. Mass will begin at 11 am with burial to follow at the Makawao Veterans Cemetery
