Maui, Hi - Ty Seiji Nagata, of Kahului, Maui, 66 years old, passed away on January 6, 2026. He was born on August 15, 1959 at Maui Memorial Hospital. Ty loved life and lived for fun! Ty loved the ocean and spent much of his life surfing, fishing, and diving. He also enjoyed playing pool, bowling, and making memories with those around him. Above all, he loved his family, his kids, his grandkids and his dogs.

Ty is predeceased by his dad: Tamotsu "Tamo" Nagata; his sister: Vickiann "Vicki" Nagata and his dogs: Hoku, Miso, and Lucky.

Ty is survived and missed by his mother: Juanita Nagata; his siblings: Tanya Lassen, Tracy (& Paul) Silva; mother of his children: Georgie Arcangel; his sons: Kyle, Ty (& Chriselle) and Dillon (& Courtney Kaupalolo) Nagata; his grandchildren: Clara-rose, Ty Masa, Aukelenuiaiku, Kahelekekūaola, Pelehonuamea, Yasu and Michael Nagata; and his dog: Sky.

There will be a Celebration of Life held in his honor at Nakamura Mortuary, on January 28, 2026. Open to the public, visitations will be held from 10a-11a, service to start at 11a-12p, lunch to follow at 12p.
